I can write or speak the important parts and access them later, the act of saying helps things sink in as often I can skip or skim over important details when reading but recording them with this app helps me remember them.
I LOVE the voice to text feature. Getting my voice notes transcribed is so helpful. It saves me so much time.
I honestly love the color coding feature of the cocoons ! I am a visual thinker and it helps. as well as the fact that the size of the mat I can place my cocoons on and group them.
Try it! It is so helpful to take voice notes to get your thoughts out and having them already sorted into their topics ( or however you chose to use it, is great)
Private is the first thing I asked the creator of the app and after learning about their privacy policy I was comfortable using it. Having my personal thoughts out there is not something I would want someone else to have access to. Also, with robust data privacy I can use this for work as well.
Mostly I use it for personal use. But it does free up my head space and therefore helps me be more creative. So yes! I’d say it helps with my creativity .
I am such a convert! I recommend it to all my friends! I find this app so valuable. The team behind it is kind and I want to see this app succeed !

The part of writing paragraphs on paper just to have to write them again on my phone can be draining, so I had started to use the microphone in my notes app to transcribe the message.
I didn't stick with that method for long, but I liked the idea and wasn't aware that apps like CocoonWeaver, which execute that concept better, existed. This boosts the efficiency of my process tenfold because it already does the grammar and punctuation for me.
Although, like any voice recording to text app, the text may be off at times, I love that I can listen to the message and just edit it as I go (and that I can also re-transcribe).
I also journal and use voice memos religiously as an outlet to get what I'm feeling out, whether it's emotions, ideas/perspectives, questions, or so on.
So this app really helps with that, and it helps with the organization aspect, which voice memos don't have as far as I'm aware.
This is also unlimited which is helpful. If I have any recommendations so far, it's that this app be made into a usable widget I can add to my home screen. It'd be helpful to be able to click on it from the home screen apps, and it would at least open, or maybe automatically record! I customize my home screen and widgets with photos and such to make it enjoyable to look at, so being able to add it to my customization would be cool! Anyway, thanks again, and I'm excited to see what happens with this app.

I’ve been using cocoon weaver to store and sort through personal thoughts and ideas. I come up with some crazy stuff, but some interesting stuff too. I’ve put in a bit of everything, from entire essays on civil rights to amusing dad jokes I come up with on my own (a hyperfocus of mine is government, governance, and human rights for some strange reason, with a dash of dad jokes)
It’s not quite as easy as talking to yourself, but it’s a one tap difference. Not too taxing on my adhd self. Occasionally, I’ll dissipate an idea I never got down, but overall it’s neat.
The dictation shortcuts are neat. I can’t remember to punctuate commas and such with my voice consistently, but it’s a nice touch
Did I mention I like human rights? The privacy of this app is pretty good - you can export your notes to text if you need to, but the app doesn’t “phone home” at all. Privacy of thought is a crucial right. A thought you don’t want to share is the very last thing that is uniquely yours and nobody else’s.
I hope to one day publish a book with my original dad jokes. Other than that, it’s a good way to track some of my CBT self-observations to see how I’m progressing in managing my ADHD
Try it out! It’s free, good, and simple. I’ve shared it with the neurodivergent employee community at my university already

Cocoon Weaver is a unique "voice memo and transcription" app with calm, intuitive, theming and MANY other welcome subtleties. Spoken organization is brilliant; speak a category name at the beginning of a recording and the app automatically flows to that collection--with the recording immediately transcribed on completion (device only for privacy).
A switch to map view can also show geolocations for more context. But the MAIN thing I've realized is that, unlike other recording apps, Cocoon Weaver is designed as a place my creative mind can INHABIT, think about, and organize ideas before export to other apps (or) sharing ideas.
It's just NOT the usual perfunctory, cold, "Folder and File" user interface and that makes ALL the difference. I didn't know I needed this! Cocoon Weaver is full of heartfelt, practical, and thoughtful refinements, easy onboarding, and amazing technical user interface design.

The thing I like most about being able to take voice notices with CocoonWeaver is that I can do it hands free meaning I don’t have to wait till I’m less preoccupied and (very) likely to have forgotten what I wanted to record.
The app in general has help me with my organisation and enabled me to take notes both quickly before I forget (I’m scatter-brained) and when I’m limited for time!
I was most surprised by the ease of use and simplicity of the app - it doesn’t need lots of ‘bells and whistles’ to make it effective as I have found with other aids I’ve used to help with my organisation.
I could sit here all day giving you reasons as to why you should give it a go - but even all the water in the world couldn’t keep me talking that long. So just give it a go for yourself, yeah?
I really like how you can make little ‘pods’ for the cocoons to keep them organised. It really helps me to separate and distinguish between cocoons meant for work, university, lifestyle etc.
The notes in my filing system (aka Notes app) were a mess! They seriously lacked organisation and half of the time I could barely make sense of them as I’d tried to type them out so quickly. Now I’ve felt it’s effects, I genuinely couldn’t imagine being without CocoonWeaver!
CocoonWeaver can store a massive variety of information, meaning your ideas for song lyrics, places to visit, poem lines, ideal fantasy football team, new dog breed concoctions - pretty much anything, is kept completely private, and can be revisited, edited and new ideas added at your convenience. Even if my idea to write a story about my cat eating a hedgehog, then my ex - shouldn’t be kept, later down the line (when I realise) I can delete it.
Same as the likelihood of it raining daily in the Amazon Rainforest - extremely likely.

Making entries is quick and easy, uses voice recognition or text input, and you can even make quick notes to organize later when you have a second.
It's all offline so your notes are all private, it loads super-fast when you need it, and it just flat out works. I wish more apps were this simple.

I love taking audio notes because it tends to be faster. In my case being a music composer, I use it a lot for recording the melodies and details for the next songs. It just helps me to not forget about my ideas, because text isn't always enough. Before discovering this app, I used WhatsApp for that.
I have achieved a structured group of important information, which helps a lot with going back to the information, when it's needed.
What surprised me the most, is the ability to create different groups of notes (cocoons), which helps me a lot to differentiate different ideas, topics and projects.
I would tell people to visit the website for tutorials. You can do most things that you can imagine, when you open the app for the very first time.
My favourite feature are the cocoons itself. As I already said earlier, it's just so comfortable and useful, the ability to create different groups of notes.
Before knowing about CocoonWeaver, I used my phone's notes app, and WhatsApp for audio notes (created a group with no people on it).It wasn't really convincing, and now I have what I wanted to have.
My mind is always "singing", and I sometimes have great ideas which I feel the urge to save them using the audio notes. And no, using WhatsApp doesn't feel the same, because I can't keep the audio notes ordered on an exact way, which leads to forgetting about them.
I already recommended the app to a few friends. One of them is using it, and he's happy with the app. So yeah, I would totally recommend it!

I have ADHD, and anxiety. I also suffer from severe aphantasia and brain fog. This app has done so much for me in remembering things I wouldn’t normally have even thought to write down in the first place.
Being able to use my voice to take down notes is a game changer and the way the cocoons work is absolutely wonderful. It deserves way more than 5 stars.
But I’ll just say 11/10 I WOULD recommend you download this app because it’s user-friendly, and you can use it for everything in your life!!! Logging dreams, reminders, and even random thought.
by Blupy17!
Audio notes are good for those who like to keep track of their dreams, when you are just waking up most people don't want to need to type alot so being able to speak just makes it simple and better!
Organization has been something I have struggled with for a very long time so being able to easily organize all my writing pieces has been a life saver!
I am surprised that there isn't more people using it, it is helpful to everyone and better than any notes app your phone could provide.
I would tell people if they want an organized and safe place to have notes its perfect!
I love that you can organize all your stuff in the bubbles it really helps a lot!
Before CocoonWeaver I had to scroll down and down and down so far into my notes app just to find something such as a password. CocoonWeaver saved me things like that!
Technologies like CocoonWeaver are there to help you with your writings and thoughts, I think that CocoonWeaver in it self is creative!
I am very likely to recommend people, CocoonWeaver is for EVERYONE if you want to write your storys in an organized place, or if you want to keep track of dreams, or even if you need to make sure you have a place for your grocery lists, CocoonWeaver can do all of that!

I haven’t used any similar apps, but I know that I do not need to look any further, this app will function for my needs for a very long time.
Thank you very much for making this app accessible and free! It’s honestly the first app I have downloaded that does not require a subscription and it’s refreshing.

My therapy sessions are more rewarding because I can go back into my “feelings” cocoon and tell my therapist everything that I wanted to tell him that past week instead of relying on “mental notes” that will realistically last two minutes or less. As a writer, I can organise my thoughts no matter where I am.
No more scrambling for a pen and forgetting what I wanted to write by time I find one. I finished two short stories in a week. Also, the highly customisable nature of the app makes it better than anything else I’ve ever tried.
You don’t need to conform to a premade structure that might not work for you, and you can write OR say your thoughts, depending on where you are and what you need; it’ll transcribe your recordings for you too.
I know, transcription can be really iffy, but as far as that goes it could really be worse.
If I could make a suggestion for improvement, it would be to implement subfolders. Like, if I had a “writing” cocoon for example, and then a “short stories” and “novels” cocoon within that, and individual stories within those.
Other than that, I don’t think there is a single thing you could do better. Thanks for this incredible app!

I cut through the overstimulation and return my attention to my own thoughts, ideas, dreams, and fears. This app is so much more than just a voice recording app.
The beauty in its responsive and intuitive UI, the ease at which I can quickly record a note, and the ability to “cocoon” those thoughts into digestible recordings makes anything from documenting dreams to compiling a gift list as simple as touching the icon.
I especially like visiting my cocoons later to listen to myself speak with intention and translate my enthusiasm about a particular topic I was thinking of at the time!
Possibilities abound, I foresee CocoonWeaver to be the missing link that many will discover when forging ahead on their self-acceptance journeys. I know I have.

What I like most is how easy it is, a lot of time I use it is when im doing chores etc. and its much easier to get myself to do it, knowing that i can just talk as opposed to sitting down and typing.
I have been using it for about a week or 2, im much more organized and able to keep track of everything better.
I did not expect my voice to be translated into text so well, i have had almost no mistakes and overall im very happy with it. What would you tell someone who's considering using CocoonWeaver?
Besides using the app as a activity journal, i would tell the person how important it is to write everything down such as feelings, emotions etc as it helps getting out frustrations and dealing with emotion.
My favourite feature is how easy it is to use, it only takes 3-4 finger taps and the rest is done through voice.
Before CocoonWeaver less organized, i used CocoonWeaver as a substitute to having a real journal and before the app i would miss writing down things a lot of time simply because of how tedious it felt to sit and write.
Technology like this can help with personal development, i used to track my progress doing tasks that i otherwise was not able to do before getting treatment for my ADHD and its helped me a lot. As for creativity, i am not a creative person however i can see how having a cocoon where you note your ideas down for things such as art can result in more creativity.
Honestly I am very likely to recommend CocoonWeaver to others, to the right person who needs it like i did, it really is a great, clean and well designed app that's easy to use.

To be able to record a note to myself - AND have it transcribed, retaining both the voice-to-text transcription and the audio recording to double-check it against, is hard to find in apps (I know, because I've been looking). Other apps do this, but make it hard to share out the transcribed text to other apps. CocoonWeaver makes that easy. Add to these features the ability to see *where you were* when you recorded the note can help you remember what you were thinking at the time you recorded the note.
To top it off - after just a short time using the app, I had an idea for an additional feature that I thought would make CocoonWeaver even more powerful, for me - and the developer got back to me quickly, politely, accurately understanding what I was asking for and promising that he was already considering adding that feature.
One of the features that I don't use, but that might be very helpful to others - is the ability to categorize your recorded notes into specific "cocoons," and to create them on the fly.
I'm looking forward to using this more - and to seeing what CocoonWeaver metamorphosizes into, in the future!

I adore this app. I came across it about a year ago, and I can’t imagine life without it now. It’s one of my favorite tools.
I have a sequential processing disorder and it makes collecting and organizing my thoughts a real struggle sometimes. I tend to work things out best verbally, dictation software was an absolute game changer for me. But you have to be very mindful, and intentional when dictating, otherwise it all falls apart, and turns into word salad.
So the place I want to brainstorm was the voice recorder app on the iPhone. Which was great in theory, but having just a ton of voice messages, poorly organized, and often impossible to find, quickly became untenable.
Enter CocoonWeaver: suddenly I could talk everything out freeform, and not have to overthink everything, just off to the races. I could keep it all organized in a way that I found intuitive and inspiring. Instead of a blizzard of chaotic thoughts and notes, I have a tapestry of ideas, dreams, hopes, and memories. If we ever reach cybernetic levels of software integration, I’d put this right inside my head, no hesitation.
I keep thinking of new ways to use this and that’s honestly the highest price I can get this software it’s as deep as what you bring to it and that’s a marvel of design and engineering. I use it in my fiction writing for world building, outlining, and general note taking. It’s one of my favourite ways to brainstorm. I also found myself using it for journaling, which surprised me. Historically, I struggle with that but now I just do it, no overthinking, no hesitation.
I can’t recommend it enough. I recommend it to people all the time and I heartily recommend it to anyone reading this review.

I wanted an app that provided a quick place to store my thoughts, mistakes and self-reflection as I stumble through the daily challenges.
I love this app because it’s got a very zen feeling accomplished by the visuals and ease of moving around within the app. I divided my life into different cocoons and check back in quickly to note my patterns whether they are healthy or unhealthy etc.
I like the fact that I can also quickly access all notes I’ve ever written. It’s just got a lovely visual and it’s easily organized.
Some apps overwhelm me. This doesn’t. I emailed the developer with a question and received a response within a very short period. They are very helpful.

I have now found a legitimate reason for a smartphone to exist in my world. I have never shed tears of joy for an app before. Words cannot express how grateful I am to you for reading my (our?) mind/s. I can’t think of a more perfect app or implementation.
Re-transcribing a single time for my pioneering entry corrected nearly all serious errors in the first transcription. It’s brilliant. This phone has NO sim card and no connection to the outside world (unless I need it to). And it works perfectly like this.
Thank you thank you thank you!!!
by Segue
Beyond the organizational factors, the elegant design and ease of functionality, the transcription is nearly dead on. Unbelievable! Mighty fine innovators!
I rarely leave reviews but I have to praise this app to the highest level possible and I hope that you get all the accolades and prosperity that you most definitely deserve.
Just through this app, I may finally be able to make my dreams come to fruition much sooner. Cheers, team!
by MiqiTevi
This app records my thoughts when I get them, immediately transcribes what I have recorded, and categorizes the set of thoughts the way I like to do it.
The transcriptions can be edited easily within the app. When I am ready to use the transcriptions they will be available; otherwise, I can add to each one, or create new ones within each category, or create new categories as I choose. Excellent app.
In time, with proven success, I will be contributing $$$ to the developers of this product. These guys deserve a high five.
